How to Write AI Prompts That Generate Stunning Print Designs

Learn the anatomy of a great prompt — subjects, styles, moods, and keywords that consistently produce print-ready artwork.

The single biggest factor in AI design quality is your prompt. A vague prompt produces a generic image. A rich, specific prompt produces artwork that stands out on any marketplace.

The Anatomy of a Great Prompt

  1. 1Subject — What is the main thing? (e.g., "a wolf", "a skull", "a mountain landscape")
  2. 2Style — What artistic style? (e.g., "vintage hand-drawn", "bold vector", "watercolor")
  3. 3Mood — What feeling? (e.g., "dark and moody", "playful and bright", "mysterious")
  4. 4Color palette — What colors? (e.g., "black and gold", "pastel rainbow", "monochrome")
  5. 5Details — Specific elements? (e.g., "surrounded by flowers", "wearing a crown")

Tip: Combine all five: "a majestic wolf howling at the moon, vintage hand-drawn style, dark and moody, black and silver palette, surrounded by pine trees and stars".

Using GoBower Style and Mood Controls

You do not have to put everything in the text prompt. GoBower gives you dedicated controls that shape the output:

  • Style Presets: Vintage, Minimal, Retro, Modern, Futuristic
  • Mood Selector: Cute, Funny, Elegant, Dark, Vibrant
  • Complexity: Simple, Medium, or Detailed
  • Creativity: Low, Medium, or High
  • Pattern options: None, Stripes, Dots, or Grunge
  • Remove Background toggle for a clean transparent PNG

On the Starter plan and above, you can also create custom styles and moods for a fully personalized brand look.

Style Keywords That Work Well

For Apparel (T-Shirts, Hoodies, Sweatshirts, Tank Tops)

  • "vintage distressed screen print"
  • "bold graphic illustration"
  • "retro 70s groovy"
  • "minimalist line art"
  • "urban streetwear graphic"

For Mugs, Tote Bags, and Phone Cases

  • "flat vector icon set"
  • "cute kawaii illustration"
  • "botanical hand-drawn"
  • "geometric art deco"
  • "watercolor splash"

What to Avoid

  • Trademarked characters, logos, or brand names
  • Overly complex scenes — simplify to 1–2 focal points
  • Photo-realistic prompts — aim for illustrative or graphic styles for best print results

Pro Tips

  • Toggle "Remove Background" to get a clean transparent PNG
  • Use "centered composition" so the subject is never cropped
  • Specify "high contrast" for dark-colored fabric
  • Try "hand-lettered text saying [your slogan]" to add typography
  • Use the Trend Scout feature to discover trending designs in your niche before writing prompts

Generate 3–5 variations of the same prompt with small tweaks. Each generation costs just 1 credit, and great designs often come from the third or fourth try.
